Catriphus can't kill without having the ring on (which is rare for post-Fall Catriphus to have the ring on), so you are actually entirely fine, but you don't know that. There's still an element of peril, and you can tag out if you think you're unsafe, that's part of the trial.

3 weeks to Halloween I really should write that Rush Week Slasher story.. I’m really thinking I want to go full-horror and gore with it because I really dig the concept but I’m afraid that it’ll turn a lot of folks away-
