This is one of the best Dramas I’ve watched in a long time. @channel5_tv Forever Home has had me hooked. We need more from Graham Norton.

If I could rewrite Early Years policy tomorrow, I’d start here. Some things need to go. Some need to change. And some we need to be brave enough to bring back. Children are more than data, targets and percentages. Respect development. Put children first. What would you change?

Joy in the early years isn’t a fluffy extra. Fredrickson (2001), King et al. (2015), Wu et al. (2021) and Yogman et al. (2018) give us the evidence: positive emotions, relationships and play matter for learning and development. Children only get one childhood. Joy matters.

This is well worth a read from Ruth Swailes. Identify NEED, not NEET. There is an important distinction here. We absolutely should identify need early. We should notice barriers, disadvantage, SEND, communication needs. ruthswailes.com/identify-nee…

There has been a lot of positive change in early childhood over the past few years. But one measure still needs to go: the Good Level of Development. It’s time to stop chasing a number and start asking whether children are truly thriving. #EarlyYears #ChildhoodFirst

Can early childhood education be both joyful and ambitious? I’m joined by Alys Leighton-Rahman and Raj Ladva to explore joy, play, high expectations and why play and achievement should never be seen as opposites. #PlayMatters #EarlyYears #Play #ECEC open.spotify.com/episode/6Cz…

Only I could book a caravan park Stowford Farm Meadows in Devon in the heatwave where the water isn’t working. Been off since Sunday and not likely to come back on until Tuesday. Well we don’t actually know. The country has gone to the dogs. @ParkResorts @Hoseasons

I don’t know if it’s any easier to see a GP. I’ve called 3 times Friday, Monday and Tuesday and by the time I get through all appointments have gone. Yep it’s much easier. Not 🤓
Wes has made it easier to see a GP but can’t get to see the PM. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is what people are saying in the queue at the coop. The issue is no one listens to the actual voter.
The local elections were devastating. We lost outstanding councillors and candidates. On the doorstep, voters repeatedly told us the same thing, national issues and the party leadership meant they could no longer vote Labour. We now need an orderly transition to new leadership.

Sounds like no one is listening
Labour was elected to change this country. That is what the public want, and what they deserve. Tough days like today don’t weaken our determination to deliver that change. They strengthen it.
