This is so saddening. I've had friends tell me they want to change their accents because 'people hear my accent before they hear what I have to say'. It only perpetuates the ridiculous idea there is a 'right' way to speak. Accents are part of who we are!
I saw this, this morning… I just wanted to say, let’s embrace who we are! Accents are part of our identities and tell our life stories. Today I am embracing my Mediterranean heritage. If you don’t understand my accent please let me know and I will repeat :) @OfSlts Thoughts?
