Today, a father and his son have been severely maimed in landmine explosion in Jabrayil district, bringing the number of landmine victims in #Azerbaijan to 4️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ since the end of the 2020-war.
This horrific incident once again demonstrates the deadly and indiscriminate threat posed by landmines, which continue to claim innocent lives and inflict devastating injuries.
Azerbaijan strongly condemns the continued danger posed by landmines and calls for greater international attention for mine action in Azerbaijan.

🇦🇿🇪🇺 BREAKING: Azerbaijan’s Parliament strongly rejects the European Parliament’s October 8 resolution on human rights in Azerbaijan, calling it a biased political move based on false and unfounded allegations.
● The Milli Majlis says the European Parliament should abandon its confrontational rhetoric and refrain from interfering in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs.
● It also calls for an objective and non-selective approach to human rights and respect for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A new direct air link between Brussels and Baku is set to launch in May 2027, with Azerbaijan Airlines operating four flights a week between the two capitals.
Tourism officials say the route could attract more European visitors and support Azerbaijan’s push to expand tourism beyond Baku, from winter sports and wine tourism to cultural heritage.

At the Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit 2026 in Brussels, Azerbaijan presented its vision for tourism beyond Baku, highlighting the country's mountain regions, Silk Road heritage and growing winter sports sector.
Speaking at the summit, Azerbaijan Tourism Board Chairman Florian Sengstschmid said future efforts will focus on attracting visitors to the regions and showcasing the Greater Caucasus as a destination for hiking, birdwatching, skiing and year-round tourism.

The 4th EU–Azerbaijan High-Level Energy Dialogue was held today in Brussels, co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen.
The discussions focused on the Southern Gas Corridor and reliable gas supplies to Europe, Azerbaijan’s gas production and export outlook, methane emissions reduction, renewable energy development, and enhanced regional energy connectivity.
Particular attention was paid to the Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor, including the findings of its feasibility study, as well as opportunities for closer cooperation on electricity interconnections within the framework of the EU’s grids, electrification, and cross-regional connectivity agenda.
The Dialogue was followed by the Clean Energy Business Roundtable, which brought together representatives of Azerbaijan, the European Commission, and European industry to discuss concrete opportunities in wind energy, electricity grids, and energy efficiency, as well as ways to promote greater European business engagement and investment in Azerbaijan’s clean energy transition.
The meetings reaffirmed the broad scope of the Azerbaijan–EU strategic energy partnership, combining energy security with an expanding clean energy and connectivity agenda.
