Deputy-PI @ErinAstro now presents on GO AXIS science and how to get involved!
We’re also putting together an AXIS science book, please consider writing a science proposal for an investigation you’re passionate about! Drafts due Feb. 21!
We now have science team member @DarylHaggard presenting on time-domain and multi-messenger science with AXIS.
One of the main AXIS is probing is how are relativistic jets launched by NS mergers? AXIS will identify and monitor 50 new neutron star binary mergers!
#AAS245
AXIS will also investigate what are the progenitors of Type Ia SNe, by discovering at 60 least new ultra-compact binaries!
#AAS245
AXIS will also probe what are the progenitors of core-collapse SNe. AXIS will study all types of core collapse SNe, pushing us back to z~3!
#AAS245
Now we have Science team member Edmund Hodges-Kluck presenting on probing feedback in and around galaxies with AXIS
#AAS245
A second question AXIS will probe is: Do AGN regulate gas cooling in galaxies? AXIS will do this by measuring the jet power from cavity power in 21 early-type galaxies.
#AAS245
Science team member @Fabio_Pacucci presents on the high-z SMBH science capable with AXIS!
AXIS surveys will be farther, wider, and faster than currently possible.
