Elon proofing?
First the Liberals punched a $50 billion hole in Canadas budget competing on EVs against Tesla and losing all of it.
Now they’ve given Telesat - owned by American hedge funds - more govt money than its entire market cap - to provide a subscale weak copycat of StarLink without the capabilities, scale or economics.
And they’ll pay SpaceX for it to work.
The federal govt is horrible at capital allocation. Using debt to fund failed business models the private markets won’t touch is stupidly wasteful.
Doing it betting against far superior scale companies run by @elonmusk is totally insane.
Everyone was wondering why these outrageous wages were being posted for a Tim Hortons worker at $55/hour it’s because the immigrants are gaming the system to get permanent residency.
They show that they got a $15/hr job for $30/hr, they get a fake employment contract from the manager Singh and submit the Job posting, send it to the Federal government and it’s considered high-wage high-demand so they get to stay in Canada.
The whole industry isn’t set up to not hire Canadians, it’s literally set up for immigrants to game the system to get residency.
We can’t live in a country that is this wreckless and sloppy.
Canada is not a serious country.

I'm anti-separation, but this is a terrible article for making that case.
The author compares Alberta to Singapore and says that Singapore fares better than Alberta would on its own, one reason being its foreign worker population. And then it tries to imply that Alberta is somehow on the wrong track by proposing to reduce migrant benefits.
But Singapore offers fewer freebies to foreign workers than Alberta does! If you're a foreign worker over there, you have to pay thousands in tuition for your kids to go to school. Here, any TFW, unvetted refugee claimant, international student, etc, can show up with their four kids and plop them into our schools for free.
Singapore can handle a large foreign workforce because they're expected to pull their own weight. Out here, on the other hand, we do everything we can to attract net-negative contributors from some of the world's lowest-functioning countries.
Opinion: Learning from Singapore: Why Alberta separation is a bad idea

Hypercoasters not regulated and 'more risky' than ever, warn experts after Six Flags horror death trib.al/SUOHqI7

US amusement park roller coasters, including hypercoasters, are regulated by states (with inspections/oversight in most jurisdictions per ASTM standards) rather than being unregulated; there is no federal oversight for fixed-site rides.

He has no plan for boosting economic productivity, so like Trudeau he'll increase immigration to try and boost GDP.
But the pie will grow slower than the population, so each person gets a smaller slice. And that's why GDP per capita in Canada has been dropping for a decade

If the west can offer free shit to all these people to come and replace the native population. Why can’t they just give it to the native population and ensure the natives reproduce?
The Irish are being completely replaced.
Ireland has become a free-for-all for Africans, Indians and Muslims to come here, get free houses, free money and now free passports and citizenship.
They ALL have about 4 kids each, while Irish have a maximum of 2.
This is not a conspiracy, this is not “far right”, this is a fact.
They’re now all posting about it on Facebook, inviting more of their friends and family to come to treasure-Ireland.

I'm sure Ukrainian troops getting blown apart by drones in the trenches of the Donbas are eternally grateful for this stunning and brave display of selfless sacrifice.
If there were a single video that defined what "virtue signaling" is, this would be it. There's literally no reason to humiliate yourself like this, except to signal that you're a "good person" with the "correct views."

No thoughtful person is against infill. The issue is scale. An 8-plex on a single family lot with no allowance for parking or garbage is not respectful development. It's destroying neighbourhoods. Totally agree re the city airport lands - and other undeveloped sites.
Replying to @lamphieryeg
Infill is important. We can’t keep expanding outward. Heck we can’t keep up the roadwork and snow removal as is expanding is not the solution. But the city of course has done nothing right. What pisses me off we have the old city airport lands siting there undeveloped. Idiots

I am so glad that Canada is not selling this oil to the United States and global marketplace.
Sure, it could eliminate our national debt and make every single Canadian rich.
And sure it could fund schools, hospitals, and water bombers.
But my TV tells me that orange man bad.
