But before he was elected to politics, Curtin was a committed unionist. He was the State Secretary of the Timberworkers' Union from 1911-1915, an AWU organiser in 1916, and editor of the Westralian Worker from 1917-1928.

Curtin sadly passed while in office, but remains one of the Australian labour movement's most influential and inspiring leaders. His tombstone reads: "His country was his pride His brother man his cause."

From 2027, gas producers will have to set aside 15-25% of their gas for Australian manufacturers, workers and households before they can export it overseas. Thank you to every member who has supported the campaign. Because it's Australia's gas, so let's reserve some for us!
