By taking this position and appearing to justify India’s refusal to accept the decision of the International Court of Justice, your credentials as an independent analyst are called into question. An independent analyst should apply the same principles and standards consistently, irrespective of which country is involved.
With such blatant discrimination, how can India continue to portray itself as the world’s greatest democracy? Elections are merely a means to an end, not an end in themselves.
“We celebrate freedom in a country where Dalits are still murdered for asserting dignity, where Adivasi communities continue to lose their forests and homes …where Muslims are often viewed with suspicion, where Christians are frequently mistrusted”

The two strategies are not mutually exclusive and will run in parallel with G2 taking preference . The US will continue strengthening alliances while engaging China directly. Confrontation through allies alone is unlikely to deliver and may take a backseat.
Washington’s original Indo-Pacific strategy rested on the proposition that the U.S. could prevent Chinese hegemony in Asia only by strengthening a network of capable allies and partners. A G2 rests on the opposite assumption. Instead of organizing a coalition to balance China, Washington would increasingly seek stability through direct understandings with Beijing itself. For America’s allies, the distinction is enormous. thehill.com/opinion/internat…
Her statements and future course of action are being decided by her hosts. You are not so naive.
Sheikh Hasina has said she’ll return to Bangladesh in December and voluntarily present herself in court. What may explain this decision, why now, and will it actually happen?

🇵🇰 A proud moment for Pakistan!
Jayant Kumar of Karachi Grammar School has made history by becoming first Pakistani to win the Harvard Crimson Business Competition (HCBC). Competing solo against 1,000+ teams from around the world, he beat them all.
Congratulations Jayant, we are proud of you. 🇵🇰
Like always, Kugelman’s reporting comes across as biased toward the Indian perspective. It’s a fair assessment that India does not have the wherewithal to act as net security provider in South East Asia.
Indian PM Modi’s Southeast Asia trip this week is an effort to pursue broader strategic objectives-related to China, the Global South, and being a net security provider-in a region that has long been a top policy priority.

Proud moment for Pakistan. For decades, Sialkot’s unmatched craftsmanship and business excellence have kept Pakistan at the heart of the FIFA World Cup. Truly world class.
Sialkot doesn’t just make footballs, it makes history.
As usual you shied away from mentioning key role of India in aiding and abetting cross border terrorism in Pakistan.
Good to read a balanced comment by Kugelman, whose tilt towards India is quite noticeable.
Pakistan’s mediation of the Iran deal presents it with an opportunity to capitalize on its newfound global prominence and to expand its footprint in the world. But this will involve hard work, both abroad and at home.

“Iran is standing up to them, while India cowers. I am ashamed of how gutless, how spineless our government has been. We have lost pride. We have lost dignity. We have lost courage. Except in our movies.”

This is a common perception among the intellectuals in India.
The events unfolding in the US - Iran- Israel conflict have brought to the fore a stark reality that Israel is a major threat to peace and stability in the region, and beyond. #IranWar #peacethroughpakistan #Israël #Palestine #peacemakers
Washington’s shift from direct confrontation to strategic engagement with China has inevitably diminished India’s geopolitical significance in US calculations. Trump’s repeated invocation of a “G2” framework is an acknowledgment of a changing global reality. The principal axis of power, competition and cooperation runs through Washington and Beijing. For all the hype surrounding India’s rise, the emerging geopolitical equilibrium continues to be defined primarily by US - China relations.
Israel opposing a US - Iran peace deal is hardly breaking news. India’s visible discomfort, however, suggests that the real problem isn’t the deal, it’s Pakistan getting a center seat at the table. Indian media is rolling over hot coals.
We welcome the arrival of the Pakistani delegation in #Switzerland.
As one of the mediators of the MoU signed between the #UnitedStates and #Iran, the Pakistani delegation is on its way to the Bürgenstock for the next phase of discussions.

Pakistan is the inheritor of the rich Indus Valley Civilisation, one of humanity’s oldest and most remarkable civilizations. History and heritage cannot be erased by rhetoric; they speak for themselves.
Walking through #Taxila, it’s impossible not to be struck by the depth of Pakistan’s history. For centuries, this was a centre of learning that connected people, ideas & cultures from across the region & beyond. A fascinating visit and a beautiful reminder of 🇵🇰 rich heritage.
