THANK YOU!!
Alright, lots of metalheads talking out their asses about politics recently so Dr. Death Metal is going into professor mode. “Politics” isn’t just about elections, government, and political parties. “Politics” is about power. Listen up: 1/X

Kid A (9): Dad, I'm sorry but... I don't think I like David Bowie. Me: oh, buddy, that's okay. everyone has different tastes & I didn't really love David Bowie at first either. my tastes just changed and that's cool too but let me ask you this, where will you live now?

some people seem confused as to the meaning of the word "politics." politics =/= political parties "politics" comes from a Greek word that means "affairs of state" or "public matters." in it's broadest sense politics is about power; who holds it and how they wield it.
remember when Metallica used their music to 'call out' the corruption & hypocrisy of institutions like the church, or-oh, idk, 'justice'? now they're just 'entertainers' who cos play as 'heavy music' taking a brave stand against really insidious shit like... Macklemore /1

the accounts that got their "free speech feewings" hurt by this post all use the same insult: "retard." guys, no one is shocked or offended. you've always been able to say the word. some of us choose not to because A. other words exist & B. it makes you seem really REALLY sad.
Not surprised. You're obviously functionally retarded.

ut oh... looks like I upset the CroMAGAnons with this one. it may surprise you that these independent thought warriors all use the same pejoratives cause they're super special snowflakes who DON'T just ape the dumbest, loudest voices they hear. sincerely, a ret*rded f*ggot

and of course the comments just take what Het says and make it explicit: "don't talk politics cause I hate your political party!" (see attached) /8

so, sorry, Het but you don't get to be the arbiter of why I love music. or as a brilliant young man once wrote to critique transparent hypocrites like yourself, "you can do it your own way, if its done just how I say..." a lyric that was much better when it was ironic. /9 END

HANG IT IN THE FUCKING RAFTERS... let's retire this tweet as the MVP of "Metal Twitter" 2026.
Replying to @ExtremeMetalDad
There’s never gonna be another sabbath either. The first 4 Metallica albums are indispensable to metal, but the first 6 Sabbath albums created numerous genres and made metal an acceptable genre. Then as an encore, the dio albums were foundational to another genre, power metal

the vol. 4 today is... FEVER by GRAVEYARD this is the one I've been waiting for. the 7th record from Swedish Blues Metal legends is a return to the gritty, FUZZY propusive sound of Hinsingen Blues. no producer, just the trio playing Heavy Blues in a room together. 🤘
