Throwing out USF’s loss to Tulane in 2024 as evidence that Sumrall is a far tougher coach than Golesh misses two important facts:
Sumrall had just taken over a team that had finished 11-3 and coached them to 9-5.
Golesh had taken over a team a year earlier that had finished 1-11 and coached them to 7-6.
Tulane was on its way down from 11 wins, USF was on its way up from 1 win.
