Transforming Africa’s Health Landscape: A Vision for 2040 🌍🩺 During our HCID Mid-Year Strategic Retreat, Ms. Chimwemwe Chamdimba (@CChamdimba), our Head of the Health & Wellbeing Cluster, presented a transformative roadmap for the continent’s future. Unveiling the Cluster’s new strategic structure and its ambitious 2040 Vision, she highlighted the integrated programmes set to drive Africa’s health agenda. Reflecting on this milestone, Chimwemwe noted: “The new structure positions the Health & Wellbeing Cluster to better support African Union Member States and Regional Economic Communities in delivering transformative health outcomes for Africa.” This new model is built upon five interconnected pillars: Health Financing and Investment, Access to Life-Saving Health Products, Integrated Primary Health Care, Health Systems Standards, and Health Data, Digital Systems & Innovation. Together, these programmes are designed to strengthen coordination, enhance country-led implementation, and accelerate progress towards resilient, equitable, and sustainable health systems across the continent. By adhering to the core principles of being integrated, multi-sectoral, country-led, and scalable, AUDA-NEPAD is now better equipped to address the evolving needs of the continent.
