New PRG4 paper on aging! The molecule that never ceases to surprise: Serum PRG4 down with age. Deficiency results in decreased survival in mice and accelerated skeletal aging in M mice. Great work by former PhD student @ATang029 and awesome collaborators. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4053…

The role of govt in funding research is different from other entities. This is bc govt has a vested interest in the future of the people. Not just immediate, but our children and their children. Research is the long game. Breakthroughs now are built on investments 20+ yrs ago.

#PRG4 #lubricin AlphaLISA from @RevvityLifeSci! We developed it with @LubrisBio #rhPRG4, showed PRG4 down in Sjogrens tears, now great to have a kit made/optimized by Revvity CustomTeams. LLOQ ~5ng/ml, only 5ul of sample. Great for serum, tears, saliva - and we’ll see what else!

Happy to say that our paper is published!! We found that K substitutions in biomimetic carbonated apatites generally give more A-type CO3 and has differences in unit cell expansion/contraction as well as CO3 vibrations than Na-CO3 apatites! Check it out :) authors.elsevier.com/c/1h5cz…
