🚨 Heads up, Appalachian Trail hikers! 🚨 The National Hurricane Center has updated the predicted track of Hurricane Isaias, which is now expected to impact the A.T. in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Great news! The America the Beautiful Act (S. 1547) was voted out of committee with no recorded dissents! Once enacted, this legislation will continue to ensure that deferred maintenance needs of our national parks and forests are addressed in the coming years. Onward!

A major winter storm will bring heavy snow and strong winds to the Appalachian Trail from the NC-TN line to Maine. 10" possible in NC/TN; up to 22" in northern PA/NJ. Blizzard warnings in PA, NJ, NY & CT. Check weather.gov before hiking.

A widespread winter storm is expected to impact much of the A.T. starting Friday, 1/23, and into the weekend. Heavy snow/ice may create dangerous conditions, especially if ice causes trees and branches to snap. Access roads may be impassable.
