Talked with a 40-person design firm in Prague. AI in everything, but still obsessed with human craft, about 30% fewer people for the same output. Low ego, happy doing pieces of a product. Design firms are driving through fog. Where are we headed, how do we stay useful, and what are you betting on?

Remember when we all used to try to keep up with, or even outrun, the pace of tech? It led to exhaustion, despair and burnout. Huge price to pay. Now that it's utterly impossible, we can just relish the beauty of each day, and get good at being human again. Happy Friday all

The design choices people make. Never ceases to astound me.

My coach told me this week LinkedIn posts aren't for going viral. They're for the last ten people who just connected. So they already know how you think before you get on a call.

Persona AI is raising $142M to put welding robots in shipyards. That's the kind of robotics bet I want to see more of.

On a robotics scaleup intro yesterday in SF. They want the machine to feel like furniture: warm when you need it and invisible when you don't. Not cute or dystopian. Just useful enough to disappear into the workday. That was refreshing to hear.

Why does the next Governor of Texas only have 46 thousand followers? Give her a follow!
Texans’ electricity bills have skyrocketed, meanwhile Greg Abbott's ERCOT board gives themselves a 30% raise. This is Greg Abbott’s record: he helps his friends get rich while working Texans are struggling to pay their bills. bit.ly/4yIyvyy

Really cool identity work by Kurppa Hosk for Swedish furniture company No Early Birds. The system focus on pure Scandinavian restraint with monochrome palettes, beautiful grid, and super simple wordmark that mirrors the architectural, cross-leg metal structures of the furniture itself. Great example of letting product photography, tactile paper stocks, and clean editorial pacing carry the brand without adding unnecessary decoration. abduzeedo.com/branding-desig…

Fasting glucose: 88. Normal. A1c: 5.7. Not. Same blood, same day. One of those gets run at every physical. The other one you have to know to ask for.
