A refreshing start to a day of action! ATM Mayoral Candidate for the City of Johannesburg, Hon. Vuyo Zungula, joined residents and ATM supporters for an energizing morning hike at Rietfontein Nature Reserve. Beyond the trails, today was about building unity, strengthening community bonds and walking together towards a better Johannesburg.

Passing the buck seems to be Minister Barbara Creecy’s preferred mode of transport! The ATM raised serious concerns about tensions between taxi operators and big bus companies in Ngcobo and Qumbu. Instead of providing solutions, the Minister simply referred us to provincial authorities. #ATMInParliament

We attended umgubho wesizwe samaHlubi. AmaHlubi is one of the oldest nations with a rich history. King Langalibalele l was one of the first political prisoners in Robben Island as He was resisting colonial rule. The nation was stripped its Kingship in 1873. Although the democratic government is premised on undoing the evils of the colonial past, the Kingship hasn’t been restored. There can never be justice until the AmaHlubi Kingship is restored and government fully recognises this beautiful nation.

Porous borders, illegal immigration and weak immigration enforcement pose serious challenges to South Africa's national security. A country that cannot effectively control its borders cannot guarantee the safety and security of its citizens.

A thought for men: In South Africa today, a woman’s fear when a man approaches her may have nothing to do with the man he is, and everything to do with the world she has learned to navigate. You may have pure intentions. She cannot know that. So if she looks afraid, don’t take offence. Give her space. Her fear is not an insult to your character. It is a reminder of the reality many women live with. And sometimes, the most decent thing a man can do is simply step back.

[MUST WATCH] The ATM has consistently raised the alarm on illegal immigration, challenged Ministers through parliamentary questions and demanded stronger border controls and immigration enforcement. We have the voice, the courage and the commitment. What we lack are the numbers in @ParliamentofRSA to turn our demands into decisive action. A stronger ATM presence in Parliament means a stronger voice demanding accountability and action. #VoteATM2026

Perhaps Minister @Leon_Schreib from the DA needs a reminder: Home Affairs is not just about issuing passports and ID documents through his friends in the Banks It is mainly about enforcing immigration laws and protecting the integrity of our borders.

[WATCH] South Africans are not asking for miracles. They are asking for water in their taps, electricity in their homes, safe streets and opportunities to put food on the table! Yet, year after year, communities are forced to beg for the very services their taxes are supposed to provide. The ATM's 2026 Local Government Elections Manifesto seeks to change this reality! #VoteATM2026

There must be a fundamental review of the fuel-pricing structure. Removing the taxes and levies would provide meaningful relief to consumers by up to R6 per litre. South Africa must accelerate the development of its domestic oil and gas resources. Our dependence on international markets leaves our economy vulnerable to international price shocks over which we have limited control.

We have just cautioned the Dpt of Employment & Labour on the exclusion of Asylum seekers in the definition of foreign nationals. Home Affairs has stated 95% of asylum seekers are denied as they are not legitimate. Given how it takes years for Home Affairs to make a decision on asylum applications, the holder of a section 22 permit can be entitled to work. That opens doors for companies to legally sideline local labour in favour of foreign labour which is subject to exploitation.

We cannot continue with porous borders, weak immigration enforcement and an asylum system that can be abused with little consequence. Our laws cannot become a loophole for illegal immigration.
