Shop class and home economics used to be required. You walked out knowing how to change a tire, check the oil, sew a button, cook a basic meal, and file simple taxes. Those classes got cut so everyone could chase a four-year degree. Now a lot of adults call roadside assistance for a flat and order takeout every night.
