I want to remind that, despite billions of sessions and hundreds of terabytes worth of data over half a decade, generative AI tools have produced at most five (5) culturally significant works. All of AI's "contributions" are things humans can do better with less effort and time.
“Well Generative AI is here now so we might as well-..” WE HAD LIVES BEFORE GENERATIVE AI. COOL THINGS WERE MADE WITHOUT GENERATIVE AI FOR DECADES

Valve has really held gaming back by: • Introducing steam workshop for mods • Making a market place for digital goods that benefits the devs and users • Invested in Proton that brought Linux gaming forward rapidly • Creating family sharing of digital licences Sure Tim ok
Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.

I've decided that "Vibe Coding" will henceforth be called "Cuck Coding", because all you're doing is sitting in a chair and watching.

Investors need to stop investing in this dumpster fire so we can move on from the AI chapter
AI companies are scrambling for cash at a record pace, per The Washington Post. The buildout is so expensive that even Silicon Valley’s giants are burning through cash, and they’re now racing each other to raise money for data centers, chips and equipment. Just this month: Meta plans to raise up to $95 billion by selling stock, with AMD and Nvidia buying in Anthropic is preparing one of the largest IPOs ever OpenAI is reportedly seeking $30 billion at a valuation above $1.4 trillion

Thinking about all of the morons that tried to tell me things like: -there is no bubble -AI is here to stay -AI is just a tool It actually was the greatest societal delusion we will ever see in our lifetimes
They aren’t kidding by the way

Great anology.
When a car goes 25 mph nobody cares. That’s what it was designed to do. When a human being runs 25 mph, it’s an accomplishment because a HUMAN BEING achieved it. Nobody gives a shit if a machine spits out the code, art, and animations and creates a game. The reason games are successful comes from people experiencing the developer’s own vision. It’s not just about the product and the profit, it’s about seeing people’s ideas come to life through their own work. Here’s a hard-to-swallow pill for people who support AI: Having dreams and ideas is not actually impressive, everybody has them. It’s putting in the effort yourself to make them happen that makes it impressive, and if you think people will still appreciate that when you used an AI to do the hard work for you then you clearly don’t know what it means to truly create.

Calling Steam a "walled garden" when you delist games like Rocket League and Fall Guys to make it so people have to go to your shitty ass storefront to play them is a bold choice ngl

I hate that not liking generative AI is considered an opinion, it's just so evil why can't people see that, even people I care about so so much, why can't they see, why are they being so tolerant of it, it hurts so much

Predictable. Next they'll try to outlaw reverse engineering (for you, not them). Enjoy the ports/recomps/recomps while you can.
