I will be defending my dissertation this Friday, November 22 at 8 am CST over the environmental factors that can lead to and modulate the streamwise vorticity current (SVC) in a supercell, and how that may impact tornadogenesis. If interested in attending, DM me for a zoom link!

. @ASchueth Analyzing simulations of streamwise vorticity currents and found that SVCs favor but don't guarantee tornadogenesis and that lift beneath SVCs contribute to mesocyclone and updraft intensification. #31SLS – at Virginia Beach, VA

We deployed all of our surface in-situ platforms (StickNet) across the Florida Big Bend area and northward into southern Georgia. Praying for the locals that everyone stays safe. #Helene #flwx #gawx

The life cycle of the Mound City tornado, timelapsed. As the first tornado became shrouded in rain, the storm briefly handed off into a new tornado, but failed. The new tornado dissipated, and the original one was slung north back into the old mesocyclone. @NWSAberdeen

Caught a top 3 image last night. The only bolt to drop from this thing during sunset colors but goodness it was a good one. At some point I’ll go back home, I swear 😂

Last night, a small thunderstorm formed over the Grand Canyon around 9 PM. I was lucky enough to capture this photo of lightning striking one of the cliff faces inside the canyon. Today looks like another big day too! #azwx

I need a new comet in my life, neowise 4 years ago was so much fun. Maybe Tsuchinshan–ATLAS in October will treat us? 🤞
It took #NEOWISE to rediscover the wonder and vastness of the night sky. I used to stare at the stars quite often, but lately life has gotten in the way; this was a much needed therapy. Taken near Groom, TX
