Happy new year 2023.
2022 was an eventful year at ASOWOS. We had a lot of wins as well as a lot of losses but all in all it was a year to be grateful for.

The fourth Edition of our yearly SMART STEM Academy has begun !
Our young participants are now diving into hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Workshops!

Yesterday, marked the end of the #SmartSTEMAcademy with a mini STEM fair where the students exhibited some of the skills they acquired during the four weeks program and competed for the Miss SSA title, an intellectual competition with three rubrics of project, brain box and talk.

This year of #SmartSTEMAcademy organized by @ASOWOS1 just came to an end and I feel like I lost a finger 😅.
I have come to love my students there and the activities we carried out daily. Volunteering is really so fulfilling 🥰
At the #SmartSTEMAcademy yesterday, our students learned about saponification and did a practical exercise by producing liquid soap.
Earlier this week, after an environmental engineering class on waste management and recycling, our students at the #SmartSTEMAcademy had a practical lesson where they recycled old clothes into beautiful flower pots!

The first week of the #SmartSTEMAcademy has successfully come to an end. This week, the kids were introduced to the basics of software engineering and they explored electricity by building snap circuits. These lessons were delivered by our amazing volunteers. A great week!
It is not too late to enroll your kids for the #SmartSTEMAcademy . It’s a unique opportunity for volunteers and students alike. Volunteers get to connect, meet mentors and students get to partake in STEM workshops to familiarize themselves with the skill sets at a young age.

Yesterday at the #SmartSTEMAcademy, some of the kids were introduced to exploration geology. They had to dig and break to find the remains of a dinosaur and then join the parts found to build the dinosaurs skeleton.
It was a very captivating exercise!
