Rank hypocrisy. We've called on the Scottish Government to remove CAF, a company complicit in war crimes, from their train bidding process. We support BDS and mean it, unlike some. If CAF wins this contract, we will boycott. We will not drive these trains.

There is a solution. The government needs to look at insourcing Network Rail's train operations, or expand the publicly owned operator to support the industry. Great British Railways offers an opportunity to absorb rail freight services. #TUC26 carried our motion. 🧵 5/6

TransPennine Express is to receive in 2034 29 five-car battery electric Adessia Stream trains built by Alstom in Derby, DfT said tonight. Rock Rail will own the £1bn fleet which features level boarding and 3 wheelchair spaces, leasing it to TPE. Production starts in 2028.

UNION WIN! London bus drivers to get air conditioning! Following negotiations between Unite, Mayor Sadiq Khan and TFL, air con will be installed in all bus driver cabs by the end of May 2027. During the heatwave cab temperatures could get as high as 40 degrees. This is a huge win for driver and passenger safety!

Solidarity with our comrades in @CFTUU as they face the ongoing horror of Russian military aggression. These appalling attacks on workers, workplaces and citizens must end.
