Small to medium business owners are on average making less in 2026 than they were 3 to 4 years ago, despite working longer hours, taking bigger risks and cost cutting. This sentiment has been ubiquitous in 2026. But at least with business, there is always a possibility, not a guarantee, to increase income disproportionately and sometimes exponentially, depending on the business owner’s tenacity and level of ambition. I do feel for the person working a job in 2026, who’s income is able to buy less and less, regardless of their pay raise, particularly of recent, and who does not have that option to try and increase their income in the way that a business owner can. Either way, there’s an untold amount of stress in being a business owner or an employee. The only way to reduce this stress is to increase your monthly or quarterly disposable income.

When you've wrecked your own life, being a doomer is a natural evolution. Your self-loathing gets projected onto the world, and it's the only shot you'll ever have at being right about something. Avoid these people like the plague they are.

I’m glad I visited France in 2016. Paris was not at its grandest back then, but it was a completely different Paris to 2026. There were African migrants in small pockets in and around the city, as the migrant decay had started 3 to 4 years prior, but the city felt safe. The beauty of the cathedrals, monuments and centuries old buildings in and around Paris will not be forgotten, even after they destroy it all. It is a real shame that the French, who have one of the strongest militaries in the world, cannot protect their own country from within.

The demon of suicide has been running wild. Got a lot of DMs and friends also reporting issues with their social group. Just never ever do it. I know. It seems like a way out. Only spreads the misery. Only way out is through. Stay alive.
The sister of Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte gives a heartbreaking tribute to her older brother, says he acted like a father to her. "RJ Mitte was my older brother, but I not only just lost a brother, I lost my father." "My mom was a single mother, and when I was 2 weeks old, she was in an accident that paralyzed her from the waist down for the first few years of my life. And my brother immediately took on the father role." "I don't have many words that I can put together. But all I can say is that every part of me is RJ." Incredibly sad. Pray for her.

A massive cheat code is adopting a mindset that everything is happening in your favor. Lost the deal? You just learned a lesson. Broke up with someone? There's someone better out there. Your life changes when you see life happening FOR you instead of against you.

Starting your own biz is the worst 3-years of glass eating, puking on the floor, hating your life existence. Then freedom. The alternative is 30 years of slowly declining socioeconomic status and disappointment The price of suffering paid either way, just front load it

Respect the rules, laws or customs of other countries. Same sex sexual activity is illegal in Zanzibar. As a ghey traveller, you should know this. Deportation is generally free, you’re lucky you don’t have to pay for your ignorance to the fullest extent.

Airports really need gyms and showers. If I have a 3-hour layover, I’d rather get a workout in, stretch, shower, and walk onto the plane feeling fresh than sit around drinking overpriced airport coffee.

Before you try be a big man online, look after your own house. Some of you lot will argue with strangers all day and still haven’t checked on your mum. Some of you lot obsessed with flexing on snapchat for nyash while your parents struggling to pay bills. Still leaving the place looking like a doss house. Still expecting respect you haven’t earned at home. That’s backwards. Get your own side tight first. Be the one to change your families life. The rest of the world can wait.

Sitting reading the news more than 6,000 km from home, news I wish I didn't have to see. Seven women. Two months. Ekurhuleni, Kempton Park, Olifantsfontein, Kwa Thema, a river near Tembisa. Some still don't have names yet. One of them went for a run and never made it home. She left an eight-year-old behind. I've been sitting here for a while, trying to make sense of it. Trying to think what would drive someone to do this, when I thought of my 16-year-old daughter. I'm on the other side of a border, in a place where I can't get to her in an hour if something happens. That's not a comfortable thing for a father to sit with. I've built a career keeping people safe, and I still can't promise her the walk from a friend's car to the front door is safe. Her next shopping trip to a mall will be safe. That's the fear. A specific kind of fear, the kind that has your name attached to it. I'm stuck in the thought that those seven women were somebody's daughter too, and none of their fathers got to do anything about it after the fact. I don't want to be added to that list of men left saying sorry too late. It hurts asking women to tell us where you are. It feels wrong to ask women to walk in numbers and keep their cell charged. To warn, "If your gut says something is wrong, it is wrong", and to say that you don't owe a stranger your politeness over your safety. For the women whose names we don't have yet, and the little girl who's growing up without her mother: this can't just be a headline that's gone by Friday. Somebody has to keep saying their names out loud. And when I get home, I will hold my daughter a little bit longer. Not because I doubt her, but because I've spent this trip doing the math on how far away I am, and I do not like the answer...

I’ve visited the site of the Twin Towers in NYC last year. It’s a tourist attraction, albeit somber. Seeing 2 gaping holes in the middle of the concrete jungle is eerie. The Twin Towers should have been built back up and built grander than before.

Over the past 4 years, whenever I advertise a job vacancy in South Africa and we go through the interview and vetting process, it has been my lived experience that women are far more keen to work than men are, that women are far more appreciative of the opportunity than men are, and most importantly, that women are far more competent than men at the same job. This is the sad state of the modern man and society in general.

Watching Spain being invaded in real time by migrants, makes me think that South Africa may be the only country in the world where its own citizens were instrumental in leading to tens of thousands of migrants fleeing our country. Quite an accomplishment!
