Himanshu Agarwal (40), a businessman from Rath, Hamirpur, died after being subjected to threats and an extortion demand.
Himanshu and his elder brother had returned home after closing their shop on September 5 when a woman and a man, accompanied by two unidentified persons, entered their house.
The woman had earlier filed an SC/ST Act FIR against Himanshu and his brother, and the group demanded ₹1 lakh while threatening to implicate him in a rape case if he refused to pay.
Himanshu became extremely distressed after the confrontation and began experiencing chest pain and deteriorating health.
On another evening, the woman and her accomplice returned and again demanded money, worsening Himanshu’s condition.
He was admitted to a Central Health Center, later referred to Orai, and then shifted to Gwalior, where he died after reaching the hospital.

While Manusmriti allowed one to change one’s Varna, the Constitution does not allow it. So who is more progressive?
According to the Manusmriti, society was divided into four groups:
- Brahmins
- Kshatriyas
- Vaishyas
- Shudras
According to the Constitution, society is also divided into four categories:
- General
- OBC
- SC
- ST
The only difference is that the Manusmriti did not give anyone a certificate declaring them an upper caste or lower caste, whereas the Constitution does.
Now tell me, how am I promoting casteism when the Constitution itself classifies me as upper caste?

I did an experiment.
I told ChatGPT I wanted to contest an election and win. I didn’t tell it the state or even the country. I simply asked for a strategy.
ChatGPT gave me a strategy based on factors like GDP, healthcare, education, infrastructure, governance etc.
Then I mentioned that I wanted to contest an election in a state in India.
Suddenly, the strategy changed. It started talking about caste and religion and where I would have the maximum chances of winning.
This country needs some serious course correction. Otherwise, we are cooked.
