As we approach World Stroke Day, Rwanda NCD Alliance and @strokeaction_RW encourage everyone to make stroke prevention part of everyday life.
Start with these steps:
✅ Monitor and control your blood pressure.
✅ Stay physically active and reduce time spent sitting.
✅ Eat a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables and less salt.
✅ Avoid tobacco and exposure to secondhand smoke.
✅ Manage diabetes and cholesterol with guidance from your healthcare provider, and follow prescribed treatment.
Prevention is a shared responsibility—in our homes, workplaces and communities. Share these steps and encourage someone you care about to take action.
Healthy people. Stronger communities. Together, let’s work towards a stroke-free Rwanda.

Together, we can challenge stigma, encourage timely care, and remind people affected by breast cancer that they deserve support at every stage. 💗
Join us this October: share awareness messages, start a conversation, and check in on someone affected by breast cancer.

“Commitments alone do not save lives. Delivery does.” Prof. Joseph MUCUMBITSI
Prof. @DrMucumbitsiJ, Chairperson of the Rwanda NCD Alliance officially welcomed participants to the first National Dialogue on NCDs 2026, taking place today in Kigali.
As Rwanda marks the Global Week for Action on NCDs 2026, @DrMucumbitsiJ called for a decisive shift from commitments to measurable action, emphasizing the need to accelerate implementation, break down silos, mobilize sustainable domestic investment, strengthen accountability, and put people living with NCDs at the centre.
He also underscored that NCDs are not only a health issue, but an economic, social, development and equity issue requiring leadership across sectors.
Under the theme “Leadership in Focus: From Commitments to Delivery: Advancing Multi-Sectoral Accountability and Sustainable Financing for NCDs in Rwanda,” the dialogue calls on all stakeholders to turn commitments into clear priorities, responsibilities, financing and action.
The commitments have been made. The evidence is clear. The opportunity is before us. It is Time to Lead.
