There is no easy way to talk about this. This week the UN announced we are on track to reach up to 3.1° Celsius of warming. We are slated to blow past the goals of the Paris Accords. Here's what this means. (1/9) 🧵

Yousef was delivering fresh produce just today and then Israel targeted and killed him. My heart is absolutely shattered.
I interviewed farmer Yousef Abo Rabee for an article on agriculture in Gaza to be published by @intifada soon. Israel just killed him.

There's been a lot said about Grangemouth recently based on poor understanding🧵
These 3 untrue harmful claims are prevalent:
- Closure is because of green policies.
- Closure is to save jobs in England.
- The workers are anti-transition and just want to refine oil forever.
Powerful @heraldscotland front page. The industrial vandalism at Grangemouth, and the job losses and the breaking up of communities it will bring, is what happens when we let key decisions about our future be made by unaccounted billionaires and governments in other countries.

Some good rules of thumb to consider before sharing information:
- are there multiple sources sharing the same information independently of each other?
- are there photos/videos being shared from multiple angles?
- is it being corroborated by local councillors, MPs, or the police?

Ultimately, what those in power object to about pogroms is not the racism, it's the disorder. Imposing order, and not combating racism, will be the priority in response.
