Small feature request of the hiring team at @AnthropicAI, via greenhouse.
When clicking to review the AI partnership guidelines - could you have it open in a new tab on default bc otherwise it wipes out all of the previous inputs 😅
Replying to @joshpuckett @asallen
My @getfreewrite typewriter for my ritual of morning pages.
Loving this event by the @resonantcompute team.
The mission is 🔥 and I’m feeling so hopeful that this rebel alliance can actually make things small and good and aligned and pro social.

I think the author makes a valid point - where is the line of empty marketing gimmicks and true engagement.
For my part, I'd have liked a little more curiosity from the tone - it feels like there's just criticism and no where to go from there.
Is the answer to not have technology in these spaces at all? Or what would a better experience have been?
I took my daughters to the Monet exhibit too and we weren't disappointed by mastery of light and colors.
But the Claude typewriter experience was also fun - one of my daughter's explored the symbolism of the gondolas and we all learned something new about how they were the only times he referenced loss and the empty one were about lost.
These things aren't perfect but I do think it matters how specifically the companies are working to engage with people and what's working and what's not. It can be okay to say - good effort and, it could have been better.

My first @ycombinator Demo day was 10 years ago for W16.
Reflecting on most important 5 things I learned:
1) speed is the real thing that sets exceptional founders apart. Compounded, that’s the only true advantage you need. People love working with and betting on people who make a commitment and meet it fast. Over and over. More than that, it’s the learning that compounds. Once you find yourself in the frontier of a problem space you only have yourself to guide the learning direction and pace.
2) consistent growth beats big numbers. I would be embarrassed to share the share early numbers but @paulg taught me the power of the 10% weekly growth drumbeat. Imparting that drumbeat into the DNA of your team early is one of the most valuable things a founder can do.
3) “what’s keeping you from growing faster?” @mwseibeI drilled in focus on the only thing that mattered and how to run tight sprints, keeping that one question at the center. It made sure we only tackled supply or demand or the platform any given week and really made an impact instead of diluted efforts everywhere.
4) push yourself further than even you think is reasonable. I remember sitting in group office hours and @qasar and @paultoo pushed me on my goal for the following two weeks until I had committed to something that consistently made me queasy. But that made us discard linear growth tactics. The constraint of the crazy goal forced us to think from first principles. Add in the accountability of ambitious peers and we met those goals more often than not.
5) anchor yourself in a northstar that will keep you from veering off course. It’s easy to stay focused during batch but the hard work happens after when you don’t have the external help to keep up the speed and goals and intensity. Having a metric unique to your company and the way you want to build it is the only way I’ve found to do that. Not just revenue or vanilla engagement but something that verifies all parts of the business are working well. For Poppy it was # bookings filled. If we were growing that 10-15%/week that meant demand was growing (bookings requested), supply was growing and operations were working (fill %). @jesslivingston taught me the value of cutting through the bs and theatrics, bc the only thing that mattered was being the most authentic version of a founder I could be.
10 years ago @ycombinator and my W16 batchmates changed my life. I’m certain I wouldn’t still be focused and driven to be a founder without it. Very grateful.
(Also hilarious I was so locked in that this is the only photo I have of the day 😅)
