‼️ Hackers turned 333 Tor exit relays, about 10% of all exits, into a trap for SSH logins and unencrypted email. The Ebury-backdoored relays sent SSH to 12 servers that stole passwords, watched commands and planted Ebury. Users who ignored SSH warnings got compromised.

Here's Why Reading Old Books Is More Important Than Ever: “Every age has its own outlook. It is specially good at seeing certain truths and specially liable to make certain mistakes. We all, therefore, need the books that will correct the characteristic mistakes of our own period. And that means the old books. All contemporary writers share to some extent the contemporary outlook—even those, like myself, who seem most opposed to it. … None of us can fully escape this blindness, but we shall certainly increase it, and weaken our guard against it, if we read only modern books. Where they are true they will give us truths which we half knew already. Where they are false they will aggravate the error with which we are already dangerously ill. The only palliative is to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds, and this can be done only by reading old books. Not, of course, that there is any magic about the past. People were no cleverer then than they are now; they made as many mistakes as we. But not the same mistakes. They will not flatter us in the errors we are already committing; and their own errors, being now open and palpable, will not endanger us.” — C.S. Lewis, On the Reading of Old Books

Been screaming it from the rooftops. Every CEO needs to send their 10x engineers into HR for like 1 week to gut the fuck out of it. It's the lowest hanging fruit across thousands of the largest corporations.

I think it depends on what you mean by horror and the intention behind it. There are some horrific things that Tolkien writes, however they are never the focus. They are always just a feature meant to amplify the beauty and light that evil can never touch. Horror is inevitable in life. CS Lewis had this to say about fearful enemies, “Since it is so likely that [children] will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage. Otherwise you are making their destiny not brighter but darker.”
Christians shouldn’t be a fan of horror. You shouldn’t be reading books, or watching movies, or listening to true crime podcasts that make you scared. How many times do we read throughout Scripture: “Do not fear.” And yet, we purposefully consume content that makes us scared. This is a direct contradiction of Jesus’ commands to not be fearful or be anxious about anything.

"I have nothing to hide" is a great line until you remember you have curtains, a phone PIN, and a lock on the bathroom door. Privacy isn't hiding. It's choosing.

🇯🇵 Without Japanese people, the world will be a much worse place. This is why, despite everything, we must survive. We must not give in to socialism and globalism. We deserve to survive.
