This Cochrane publication study appears to give NHS employers the green light to replace doctors with nurses in acute care hospital settings, because there are no safety issues with doing this.

We remain concerned about the inappropriate substitution of doctors with non-medically qualified staff.
Weāre exploring how advanced practice roles are being used by NHS employers. To help with this, weāre asking UK doctors and medical students to complete our advanced practice survey.
Make sure your voice is heard šsurveymonkey.com/r/MVXCB99
There is a silent epidemic of presenteeism and burnout that is undermining the NHS and putting doctorsā health and wellbeing at risk.
A new BMA survey of more than 3,500 doctors and medical students finds that many continue working at the expense of their own health, driven by fear of letting down colleagues or patients and concerns about discrimination or unfair treatment.

Confirming that the clinical director of paediatrics in the Royal Surrey is a nurse consultant
How did a nurse become medically trained to an F1 level let alone consultant?
How are RCPCH and NMC and GMC remotely okay with this?
Imagine being a paediatric trainee and being interviewed by a nurse
I'm sure they are a great nurse
But at what point and how did they get even the level of knowledge that would enable them to pass 1st year medical school exams?
Congratulations to both you, well done

A credible offer to restore our pay and value can end this dispute.

When resident doctors strike, it's not just a demand for better payāit's a fight for dignity, fair working conditions, and the ability to care for patients without burnout. Their struggle is a symptom of a broken system. Solidarity with those who heal should never be optional.
Pay erosion for Resident Doctors in Scotland is larger than predicted when last yearās deal was agreed. As of April 2025 stands at -17% compared to pay in 2008.

The Government must now commit to funding that reflects the true scale of need, or the proposed reforms risk falling short.
