🚴‍♂️ Pedalling Progress in Parliament! 🚶‍♀️ Last week, I had the pleasure of joining the @APPGCW 2025 Parliamentary Bike Ride - a brilliant way to kickstart the day and champion active travel! We were led by Lillian Greenwood MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Future of Roads, and Paul Huijts, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UK - both passionate advocates for sustainable transport. Together, we cycled around 7 miles, sharing ideas and conversations about how we can better support walking and cycling across the UK. 🚲💬

Illegally modified e-bikes are causing havoc in our towns, cities and communities. Battery fires, antisocial behaviour and the exploitation of workers in the gig economy are increasing due to the lack of regulation on e-bikes. I spoke to @BBCLeeds about our report @APPGCW.

It’s been four and a half years since the Government consultation on banning pavement parking with still no outcome. “For most people, being pushed into the road to walk around cars is not nice. But for some, that is literally putting them off leaving the house.”

To help improve bike parking, we're funding more parking bays for dockless e-bikes across the capital. This is one of 34 new bays delivered in Brent last year. 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 👏👏@Brent_Council

All that incredible engineering and they can't make the number plate stick. Seems to be a theme with supercars. Ticket +report to DVLA re misuse of plate. Number plate=accountability. What if your loved ones were hit by a car with no plate and the driver got away with it?
