Shocking, but worth remembering that, in 2022, Rwanda denied AOAV’s Executive Director press accreditation to investigate refugee abuses (even as the then UK government hailed Rwanda as a country that respected human rights). aoav.org.uk/2022/rwanda-gove…

Hegseth on Afghanistan: I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters. It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there. Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations. In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."

1/6 “Guns don’t kill people; people do.” Six words that have shaped decades of firearms policy. But how did an American gun-rights slogan become a global political argument? A new AOAV investigation traces the NRA's rhetoric across continents and into parliaments worldwide.

In practice, smaller bombs did not necessarily mean fewer civilian deaths; multi-purpose shells were not used with restraint; and autonomous or semi-autonomous systems did not guarantee greater protection for civilians.
