Being able to walk away at the drop of a hat, without it affecting your lifestyle, is a luxury.

Stop risking $1 to make fifty cents. Risk 1 to make 7 or walk away.

Blame the loss on the weather delay.
Blame the loss on inability to execute late.
BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER: Carolina should have put this game away by halftime.
Missed opportunities is the story of the day.

Joe Rogan is stunned by a theory that could completely rewrite human history: an advanced civilization may have existed LONG before recorded history.
ROGAN: “There was a very advanced civilization that existed on Earth tens of thousands of years ago.”
ROGAN: “We were probably wiped out by a comet impact, and what we have today is a rebuild of civilization.”
ROGAN: “There’s not a linear progression from caveman to us.”
ROGAN: “When you look at the Sumerian kings list, it gets very weird because there’s kings that reign for thousands of years.”
ROGAN: “And then you have the flood. After the flood, the age of these people drops pretty dramatically.”
ROGAN: “Is this just myth? Poor recordkeeping? Or had they achieved something we don’t understand?”
ROGAN: “They had achieved incredibly complex structures like the pyramids.”
ROGAN: “How did they move these 500-ton stones from hundreds of miles away? We don’t really know.”
ROGAN: “Had they also gotten involved in genetic engineering?”
ROGAN: “Had they figured out a way to extend lifespan?”
Then Sinclair takes the idea even further.
SINCLAIR: “Imagine if you had 500 years to do research, not just 57 years.”
SINCLAIR: “Imagine if you could continue learning and growing.”
SINCLAIR: “You would get so much done.”
SINCLAIR: “The exponential increase in technological innovation that we would have in this society would be absolutely mind-blowing.”
SINCLAIR: “If we do have extension of human lifespan… how will you think about your life if being 100 is still your prime?”
SINCLAIR: “You might have multiple lifetimes, multiple marriages, multiple families.”
SINCLAIR: “That will happen. It’s not really a question of if anymore.”

College sports are not in chaos. What Ted Cruz is calling chaos is the predictable and overdue market correction after the NCAA spent decades suppressing athlete compensation, restricting mobility, and operating as a cartel. The real instability came from the amateurism rules that courts continue to dismantle. Athletes finally have leverage. That's not chaos.
Also, programs are not going broke. They choose to pay coaches 8-figure salaries, construct lavish facilities, and run an arms race while using accounting that treats scholarships and facilities as “expenses” and then cries poverty. The same departments that claim insolvency somehow find tens of millions for the next head coach and the next weight room. Fuzzy math does not make voluntary spending a crisis that requires federal intervention.
Professional leagues have long treated college sports as a free minor-league system. The NFL and NBA in particular have avoided the full cost of player development. That does not create an obligation for Congress to now reimpose restraints on the athletes who generate the value.
Finally, Congress did not create this mess. The NCAA did. Decades of anti-competitive rules, aggressive enforcement against athletes, and refusal to adapt produced the legal losses and the patchwork of state NIL laws. The current environment is the consequence of that failure, not of congressional inaction.
The Protect College Sports Act is not a solution. It grants limited antitrust immunity to the same entities that caused the problems, imposes artificial limits on transfers that restrict athlete mobility, creates mechanisms that tilt leverage back toward schools, and preempts stronger state protections. Very little in the bill prioritizes the athletes who built the product. Passing it would not “fix” college sports. It would simply re-entrench the power structure that athletes have finally begun to challenge.
Thanks for reading my op-ed.
