It starts with the materials: where they come from, how they are made, and what happens to them when the #building reaches the end of its life ♻️ Our 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 looks at exactly that: 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🇬🇷 Introducing the INPERSO Use Cases | 𝗗𝗖#𝟯: 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 Our third Demonstration Case brings us to Greece, a 4-storey social shelter in the Municipality Vari Voula Vouliagmeni, originally built as a hotel in 1962 and now home to some of the community's residents. Here's what makes DC#3 unique: 🧱 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁: With no heritage restrictions, DC#3 deploys a full stack: SmartWall, commercial ETICS insulation, heat pumps, fan coils, PV systems and solar thermal panels for hot water. 📉 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: The ground floor is projected to jump from energy class F to A, cutting primary energy consumption by over 92% and CO₂ emissions from 81.3 to just 1.2 kg/m². ☀️ 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗜𝗣𝗩 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀: Building-integrated photovoltaic panels have been installed on-site, generating clean electricity for the building. 🤝 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵: Residents, staff and building owners were engaged throughout pre-, during- and post-renovation phases to assess indoor comfort, build trust and support informed decision-making. 🏗️ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Energy consumption and indoor air quality are being tracked in real time as part of the post-renovation evaluation.
