American Medical Response retweeted
Scott Montellaro was a paramedic working out of the American Medical Response (AMR) office in New Haven on 9/11. When Montellaro heard the attacks, he rushed down to New York. He saw people fleeing; cars that had been crushed or incinerated. But he also saw something that to this day, has stayed with him. “While we were there, we were staging, the people in the city were just coming together, coming to us, asking if we needed anything,” Montellaro said. That sense of team work and community is a lesson Montellaro now also teaches to paramedics at the AMR office as a paramedic field training officer. ctpublic.org/news/2026-09-09…

Meet the expert team that responds when things go off track! Your 2026 IMSA AMR Safety Team is ready at any point throughout the race weekend to provide care at a moment’s notice! Introducing: Robert R. IMSA Track Services Member since 2021 "After graduating high school in 1994, I enrolled at Gwinnett Technical College to obtain my EMT certification. I began full-time employment with Barrow County Fire Department in 1997 and went on to earn my Paramedic certification in 1998. I was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004 and to Battalion Chief in 2012, a position I continue to hold today. In this role, I manage day-to-day operations for my shift and supervise 23 personnel. I also serve as the Incident Commander on emergency scenes. I have continued to pursue professional development throughout my career, earning associate degrees in both Fire Science Technology and Emergency Management from Lanier Technical College! In 1998, I was invited to work a race event at Road Atlanta. I began by riding on a medical unit, and soon after was assigned to a rescue truck. I quickly developed a love for the high-speed nature of on-track incident mitigation. Over the past 27years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning more about motorsports vehicles and developing faster, safer techniques for returning the track to green flag conditions. This path also led me to pursue and be selected for a position on the committee for NFPA 610, Safety at Motorsports Venues and have articles about motorsports safety published in Fire Engineering Magazine!" #IMSA #JoinGMR | @AMR_Social
