📢 New paper out! Led by @ferpalenrique & @thethinsection, the authors combined microcontextual and biomolecular analyses in a Neolithic combustion feature at Abric del Xicotó (Alòs de Balaguer, Lleida, Spain) to approach fuel use and herding strategies 🔥🐑
Micromorphology, microremains analyses, molecular biomarkers (fecal sterols & n-alkanes carbon stable isotopes) reveal that animals were kept in the site during late spring/early summer, reinforcing the idea that livestock management was part of the site’s occupation dynamics.
