#Rabies isn't a dog-only problem.
Cats, bats, foxes, jackals. Any mammal can carry the virus and pass it on through a single bite or scratch.
If it happens to you, get to a clinic fast. Once symptoms appear, it's almost always too late.

.@WHO welcomes the historic @UN_HRC resolution on 'Human rights and neglected tropical diseases' adopted today, which recognizes that neglected tropical diseases are not only a public health challenge, but also a significant human rights concern — they are a mirror of inequality, discrimination and social exclusion.
We stand ready to work with @UNHumanRights to make sure no one's right to health is left behind and to deliver #HealthForAll.
As the world races to achieve a 90% reduction in #NTDs by 2030, it is encouraging to note that the number of people requiring interventions against NTDs declined by 36% in 2024 compared with the 2010 baseline of 2.19 billion people.

OPINION: Kenya is at a critical juncture in its fight against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), affecting millions primarily in arid and semi-arid lands. Here, poverty, malnutrition, and climate vulnerability converge, with the burden of NTDs extending far beyond health, perpetuating poverty and constraining productivity.
