Won't lie, I'm tired But you CAN make a difference for your Parks Pls retweet/like/comment if you will VOTE in 2018 to help National Parks

Hoover, Carter, Coolidge, Reagan, Ford, Clinton, Truman, Bushes, Lincoln, Roosevelts, Obama, Johnson, Kennedy, and many other Presidents on both sides of the aisle did what was right for National Parks and conservation of land... whitehousehistory.org/the-pr…

Harry S Truman- "These are the people's parks owned by the young and old..."

JFK “National Parks & reserves are an integral aspect of intelligent use of natural resources. It is the course of wisdom to set aside an ample portion of our natural resources as national parks & reserves, thus ensuring that future generations may know the majesty of the earth.”

Even George W Bush added six new Parks to the US National Park system, and he helped add nearly 2.5 million acres to the National Wilderness Preservation System.

More recently, @BarackObama protected more natural habitat than any president in American history, exceeding the 290 million acres by the founder of US National Parks, President Theodore Roosevelt. Great conservation by a great President.

For over a century, presidents and their families have played a pivotal role in shaping our national parks. Lady Bird Johnson, along with philanthropist Laurance Rockefeller, lobbied Congress to create the National Park Foundation in 1967.

Park lovers may be most indebted to Theodore Roosevelt. During his presidency, Roosevelt protected roughly 230 million acres of public land, including five national parks.

For example, President Lincoln set aside a large section of the Yosemite Valley for public use – the first time that had ever been done in the United States. In 1890, that land would become Yosemite National Park.

National Parks are a great topic with friends, neighbors & family that you don’t see eye-to-eye with on politics. Try connecting instead of arguing. Protecting Parks can be a gateway into other topics with shared viewpoints. Do you have a favorite Parks pic, logo, or shirt?

Well, as I’ve said, the non-voters decided the elections in TX. Apathy is a part of it, but voter suppression from reduced early voting hours & locations, removal of early voting from college campuses & elimination of drive up voting impacted minorities & youth significantly.

We used this pic the other day, but pls read it. "Your help to protect this park will be appreciated" National Park Service (& @AltUSNPS)

One of our favorite signs from Science March. It has it all- Science, Climate, Natl Parks, EPA, anti-Pruitt, Oil & $... And a familiar logo

Happy Mothers' Day Do something special for your mom every day. Appreciate her love, patience & nurturing. Then do the same for Mother Earth

Ever notice how quick @GovAbbott @SenTedCruz @KenPaxtonTX & Texas GOP point fingers at Biden & Dems for problems in Texas? Fast to blame others, but they never take responsibility for GOP failed policies. Covid response, CPS, grid failure, health care, education, school shootings
