Excited to share our latest work published today in @NatImmunol! 🎉 Together with Taja Vatovec, we investigated how somatic CBL deficiency affects B cell development and function. nature.com/articles/s41590-0…

This review by @ALNeehus, @bloodgenes, @casanova_lab and @BustamanteJaci1 covers the human genetic defects affecting the phagocytic respiratory burst, highlighting the dichotomy between defects of the core NADPH oxidase and of upstream regulators. hubs.la/Q04xS9Y80
Happy to share the preprints of two complimentary studies from my Postdoc with @bloodgenes:
We set out to understand the mechanisms underlying inherited childhood B cell lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL):

Deletion of ELK3 through CRISPR/Cas9 in our in vitro B cell culture system, revealed impaired B cell differentiation upon ELK3 KO as well as downregulation of B-celll progenitor drivers and signatures. This establishes ELK3 as a novel regulator of human B-cell development.
Huge thanks to my mentor @bloodgenes as well as @LWahlster and @jung_lee6151 with whom I co-led these studies. Thanks to all the great collaborators including @GauravA_UK @chenweng1991 @Spencer2268 @lrbzldz @dellaVolpe_L @CohnOfir @michaelpoeschla @adamdesmith @tjflemin

Reposting: My lab has an open postdoctoral position to lead large-scale gene association and PheWAS in major biobanks and develop AI/ML models to predict genetic variant function. Strong programming skills, a solid publication record, and human genetics background are required.
Decades of research have revealed the intricacies of how dendritic cells (DCs) function, but fundamental questions remain about how this group of cells develops in humans and how this process goes awry in disease. A thread on our new work! (1/9)

🩸🧬 Dendritic cells are rare but key players in immunity. In a new preprint led by @CohnOfir, we generate a single-cell multi-omic atlas of human dendritic cell differentiation to reveal links to immune-mediated disease: biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

Latest paper from @Tangye_Lab. A terrific tour de force collab with @Jonathan_Bohlen @ALNeehus @casanova_lab @bloodgenes @DrCindyMa @BustamanteJaci1 & many others. Unravelling the role of CBL in human B cell development/function. Huge thanks to all involved! 🧬🧪🍾 @NatImmunol
An international team, co-led by Garvan's Prof Stuart Tangye, has discovered that the protein CBL is crucial for B cell development, shedding light on immune function and why some people are more prone to infections. Published today in Nature Immunology: ow.ly/gk4z50XX0Y7
Huge thanks to everyone who made this work possible and to @BustamanteJaci1, @casanova_lab, @bloodgenes and @Tangye_Lab for their support and mentorship throughout this journey!
Special shout-out to my friend @Jonathan_Bohlen on his lab's first paper! 🍾
