In-depth piece by @Nat_Herz examining the perfect storm of factors threatening Alaska’s fishing industry, including runaway inflation and the Russian dumping of cheap seafood that has eroded global prices. My team and I were recently able to secure a G7 statement condemning the Putin regime’s unfair and unsustainable seafood trade, a first step toward galvanizing our allies and partners to sanction Russian seafood and stabilize prices. I’m also working closely with Sen. @JohnBoozman to include provisions in the upcoming Farm Bill that would help de-risk the fishing industry and provide our fishermen some of the same protections afforded to America’s farmers.
