BREAKING: Cleveland, Denver and the Clippers have agreed on a trade sending Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers, Max Strus to LA, and an unprotected 2031 Cavs first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder to the Nuggets, sources tell ESPN.
Watson will sign a new four-year, $88 million deal to join the Cavaliers, plus a player option and a trade kicker.

Rich Paul says an entire media business has been built around criticizing LeBron James
“A lot of podcasters and analysts built a business off talking negative about LeBron James.”
“There’s money in it for people.”
“A lot of it is because they can’t accept that he did things his way.”
“When you’re a Black man in America, and in this case an athlete, doing things your way isn’t the ideal thing for most people.”
“They wait on you to fall.”
“They wait on you to fail.”

Shams on Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown:
"On the court, they were great. But over the last year or so, that personal relationship, it was as close to not existent as you could have.”

Championships, raising banners and performing at the highest level in the games that matter the most to lead your team does not matter anymore to the calculator casuals 🤦🏽♂️ It is about your "on/off" stats and point differentials.
Jaylen Brown is a great NBA player. I think he's probably one of the 25-35 best players in the NBA. That's nothing to sneeze at.
But Boston's point differential has been worse with him on the floor in each of the last four and six of the last eight seasons. You can explain one or two away (as Boston fans so passionately have), but that's a long track record.
His assist-to-turnover ratio is bad. He's a high-volume shooter with a below-average true shooting percentage.
He more than makes up for his flaws in other ways. Again, he's great. But pretending like he was going to be worth a superstar trade package, especially when leverage was killed by what seemed like a public campaign to be traded, was just setting fans up to be angry.

Free agent guard Tyus Jones has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN. Jones played a reserve role after joining Denver on the buyout market last season, and enters his 12th NBA season as his agent Kevin Bradbury of LIFT Sports Management completes an agreement with Nuggets officials.
Analytics is the worst thing that has ever happened in basketball.
"Even though Jaylen Brown was talking about himself for MVP, the Celtics did not feel like Jaylen had the best season on their team…They felt that Derrick White had a better season."
— Brian Windhorst. 😳

Jaylen Brown is a millionaire and still has to deal with this. Average Black Americans face it every day in corporate America.
The higher you climb, the more your intelligence, confidence, and voice are often treated as a problem instead of an asset.
An anonymous NBA executive and scout believe Jaylen Brown has a "disease" where he thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, per @colincowherd
“I had two NBA sources … two people in the league, one an executive, one a scout, say that Jaylen Brown has — it’s a disease. He suddenly thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he’s in ... You make a lot of money, suddenly you’re absolutely sure, you don’t wanna listen to your bosses, you don’t wanna listen to consultants, you don’t wanna listen to teammates.”
