🧵- Mental health. Gonna get personal so bear with me. Just watched the latest SDP and I’m gonna be honest, it hit me like a brick. I wasn’t initially going to open up about this, but I started taking antidepressants last week. After I graduated, I had a few weeks off and

Watched that game with my buddy who’s a Canucks fan and I have to say, top 1 funniest sports viewing experience I’ve ever had. Nobody was happy with any result. Ultimate hate watch in every facet

We’re at the point where the Leafs standing pat at the deadline would be straight malpractice. Buying is so far in the rearview mirror, take this opportunity to realize this group doesn’t have it and recoup some assets. I don’t care if they win each of their next 3 games

Been thinking of words to describe this team when “bad” “boring” “weak” don’t do the job anymore and I’ve finally landed on the perfect word - feeble. These mfs are soooooo feeble

If you have an opportunity to promote the guy with 7 points in 33 games to fix a team who just lost 5 games in a row you just gotta do it. Also thank god Rifai isn’t getting a look, if they put him in the lineup they might do something drastic like allow 7 goals against

Fitting that the Leafs’ worst season of the Matthews era comes in a year where Boston owns their first round pick (and these guys will not suck enough to finish bottom 5, don’t even start with that). Cheering for this hellscape of a franchise has no benefits. None.

Leafs fans: “Guys, you haven’t won a Cup in almost 60 years. You only won two playoff rounds in 9 years with the most talented core this franchise has ever had. Every other fanbase hates us and preys on our demise. Please, give us anything to feel pride in: The Leafs:

Feel bad that Willy had to be the face of this meme because he’s the one guy who #ActuallyCares sometimes, but unfortunately he’s also the funniest and only one who would do this

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team make worse breakout passes than the Leafs have in this game. It’s either a grenade to nobody or a backhand floater to nobody. Not a sustainable strategy against an AHL team but let’s do it against the Avalanche and see if it works

Willing to be a big boy and admit these Leafs might just not have it. Great start and just like that two stupid mistakes end up in the back of their net. Good luck trying to mount a comeback on Colorado

I know that snapping a 3 game losing streak against the best team in the league while the other Atlantic teams widen their gap is a tall order, but the Avs have lost 4 of their last 5 games and are vulnerable right now. Need the best effort of the season from the Leafs today

Game is shaping up to be a great one for the narrative™️ if the Leafs don’t fight their way back into this one

Sharing this not because of the piece itself, but because it marks my 1000th article with @TLNdc since my first one on June 1st, 2023. Absolutely love this site and the people I work with including @Arunthings and @QuadrelliD, thanks for reading everybody. theleafsnation.com/news/mitc…

Mitch Marner expecting Maple Leafs fans to try and get him off his game in return to Scotiabank...

Friday, January 23rd’s Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Vegas Golden Knights promises to be one of the most, if not the most viewed Leafs game of 2025-26. Of course, this is because it marks the...

This game is for the fans

From our vantage point, the popular discourse surrounding Mitch Marner has been misapplied. It’s not a matter if Marner will be booed upon donning the Vegas Golden Knights jersey on Friday against...

Mitch Marner and the corrosion of the Ontario Dream

How many of us get to live out our dreams in actuality? It may be reductive, or perhaps somewhat outdated, but the idea that every Ontario kid wants to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs still largely...

This was a great good read from the always great @AHobsonMedia. It’s not a slander piece on Marner, but a timeline on how things went down (if you didn’t know the moments) that caused fans to turn on MM.

We abstained from any Marner content after he signed with Vegas, until this week. I did a deep dive into the past six years and put together a timeline of when the relationship started to go south, and how we got to where we did. My latest for @TLNdc: theleafsnation.com/news/a-ti…

A timeline of events that led to Mitch Marner’s downfall and eventual exit from Maple Leafs

Mitch Marner was supposed to be a lifelong Leaf. Marner, who spent nine years with the Toronto Maple Leafs, was drafted fourth overall by the team in 2015, at a point where the team had finally...
