A great free workshop for those working in agriculture and rural communities who want to feel more confident supporting others.
Sometimes the most important conversations are also the hardest ones to start.
Many people want to support someone who may be struggling — they just don’t always know what to say, what signs to look for, or how to help without making things worse.
In partnership with Abridge Consulting, our upcoming workshop, Start the Conversation: Suicide Awareness in Our Community, is designed to help build confidence in having those conversations within agricultural and rural communities.
Together, we’ll explore practical ways to recognize distress, respond with care, and strengthen support across our communities.

The recent spread of foot and mouth disease (serotype SAT 1) beyond its historical African range, in previously disease-free countries, including those in Southern Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is concerning. It underscores how quickly animal disease can cross borders even in regions that have been historically disease free.
Early detection, transparent reporting and strong Veterinary Services remain our best defence. Investing in surveillance, diagnostics and vaccination is key to reducing future risks and protecting livelihoods.

When bringing home beef cattle from auction marts or community pastures, it is important to segregate them from the rest of the herd and watch for signs of illness to prevent the spread of disease.
