And now it is 7.
It feels like a lifetime ago, whilst at the same time, never further away than yesterday.

They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
Can personally confirm based on my experience this is 100% correct. Eternally grateful I didn’t see any posts or news about an accident before I was notified. But I’ll always regret reading some of the posts and comments afterwards. Speculation exacerbates our grief.
Pte Aiden Goulding, 3 PPCLI, North Vancouver, BC
Pte Sean Farrell, 3 PPCLI, Prince Albert, SK
Pte Hayden Leichmark, 3 PPCLI, Langley, BC
Sgt Morgan Wong, Loyal Edmonton Regiment, Edmonton, AB
Say their names, remember them.
It is with profound sadness that we confirm that Sergeant Morgan Wong, Private Shaun Farrell, Private Aidan Goulding, and Private Hayden Lykkemark lost their lives during an incident at CFB Wainwright yesterday. 39 additional members sustained injuries.

Nova Scotians stand with all those affected by the tragic incident at CFB Wainwright.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who is grieving today and send our heartfelt thanks to the brave first responders and medical personnel who are working so hard to ease pain and save lives.
Members of the Canadian Armed Forces are part of Nova Scotia's fabric. Nearly every Nova Scotian knows someone who serves our country. They are our neighbours. Our kids go to school and play hockey together. They are dedicated community volunteers and they are our friends.
Today all those who are suffering are in our prayers.
The anxiety, the fear, the pain. As a military spouse you can imagine what it would be like if your doorbell ever rang, but you can never truly fathom the excruciating pain until it actually does. It is a moment that irrevocably changes your life forever.
This has been a devastating weekend in Wainwright. While this tragedy continues to unfold publicly, I urge you to remember that for the families involved this is a very personal tragedy. Please remember that as you tweet and share news and updates about this event.

He died 12 years ago yesterday leading 2RCHA, the regiment he so loved.
He made the world a brighter, funnier place.
And us better people for having known him.

Some fantastic news on a bleak day. So proud of my dear friend Rossa. Irish Forces are in great hands.
Congratulations to the Assistant Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Rossa Mulcahy on his appointment as the next Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces.
Brigadier General Mulcahy has over 39 years of experience across a variety of roles both at home and overseas, where he has served on United Nations and NATO missions. He was appointed as the Assistant Chief of Staff in 2021 and his dedication, service and commitment to the Defence Forces makes him an outstanding choice to lead the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.
Brigadier General Mulcahy will take up the appointment of Chief of Staff on the 1st June 2025.

With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.
Some news. I’m incredibly honoured to have two of my pieces published in this beautiful exploration of grief, due out June 15th.
