For a decade and more Labour has been peddling the myth of St Helier’s doom, scaremongering the local residents, claiming victory each time nothing actually happens and banking votes at each election. The NHS plan to further secure St Helier’s future makes them Labour’s enemy. – at Merton, London
Did you know that healthcare for Merton residents stands to benefit from £500m investment under new proposals from @IHTogether? Ask yourself why @MertonLabour (under the cover of @Merton_Council) oppose this.
The problem is understood, but who would pay for this? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2z…
I don’t remember all this ‘coronation’ hoohah when the Conservatives switched PMs. Okay, maybe Boris’s midterm accession wasn’t so low key, but at least he sought his own mandate with an early GE only 5 months later. I wonder if Burnham will do the same?
Worrying conduct and serious lack of judgement to brag about it. Does anyone else think Hatton should be immediately stripped of his place on the team? bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/article…
"At 16, a young person can work, they pay taxes, they can join the Army. So there's no reason why from that age, they shouldn't have a say in who governs our country," Not sure about the age drop, but if only taxpayers can vote that could be progress.

I knew what I was getting into when I entered this debate and compared to what others have suffered, I've got off lightly. Even so, it continues to astound that Kemi Badenoch remains the only UK political leader offering unequivocal solidarity to women defending their rights.

In PMQs on Wednesday I was so shocked by Keir Starmer’s lies and obfuscation I went through the record and found he told 25 porkies in only 30 minutes.
A thread below, starting with the most glaring example.

With the BBC adaptation of Jamaica Inn the problem was we couldn’t hear the dialogue; with #towardszero we can’t actually see through the gloom.
Not saying the move is without merit, but if the Conservatives had even whispered about doing this, Labour and the unions would have been manning the barricades.
So comrade, will it be by the back door…or out of a 5th floor window? bbc.com/news/articles/c9q4nr…

1. A thread 🧵on the extraordinary Christian Legal Centre case of Rev. Dr Bernard Randall and the latest developments in his story.
In 2019, Dr Randall, an ordained Church of England (CofE) minister, was working without any issues at Trent College in Derbyshire. The college had a CofE chapel and a CofE ethos and Dr Randall was employed to pastor, teach and uphold Christian beliefs in the school.
Everything changed, however, when the college invited extreme LGBT group, Educate and Celebrate, to implement their ‘gold standard’ inclusive curriculum to even nursery aged children…
