Have you heard the latest episode of #IMKC w/@sandylocks? Listen now to hear some of today's most prominent racial justice advocates reflect on the contemporary significance of the passing of the 1965 Voting Rights Act & how the battle for our rights and freedoms continues today.

Worth listening to this presentation by the Finnish President regarding the framework of a more legitimate Ukrainian ceasefire negotiation than the attempted hijacking of one currently underway between Putin and Trump.
In order to achieve a sustainable peace the parties most directly involved must be front and centre, especially Ukraine, other European border states at threat from Putin, Europe as a whole, and the NATO alliance.
Key points are that neither Russia - nor Russia and America - decide who is or not a member of either the EU or NATO. Those are decisions to be made by those organizations.
In the case of NATO that means the alliance members, fore-mostly - but not unilaterally - America. It would be tragic if the American President's unilateral recklessness results in America withdrawing from NATO for the life of his Presidency.
But it would be even more tragic if his ill-advised and arrogant pursuit of a pseudo peace trophy leaves Europe exposed by enabling even greater aggression and war crimes by Putin. Read your history to understand how that happens.

When we find ourselves with thoughts like these on the left, let’s take a moment to critically reflect. What might I be missing in communicating with my students?

Please do not use Teachers Pay Teachers for ANYTHING to do with #OrangeShirtDay. Not only is TPT NOT audited for equity and cultural appropriation, creators are literally making money off of Indigenous trauma. I will continue to share free vetted resources this month! 🧡🪶

In school, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were the people befriending kids like Gus Walz and defending them from bullies.
Donald Trump, JD Vance, and their supporters were the ones bullying them.
This election is about character and decency.
We need to show up.

When we are intentional about checking in with our students predictably and consistently, we are creating a disciplinary practice that get out in front of negative behaviors which is dysregulation!
This is so powerful. As educators we cannot take care of everything, but we can manage ourselves. We go first- and this can be challenging, but essential. Thank you @desautels_phd @TVDSBSafeSchool @TVDSBcares @DorianaRosati
