Higher ed should not be about preparing students for a life of work, it should be about preparing them to build a world without work, where we can live sustainably while enjoying leisure activities, maximizing time with family and friends, and pursuing stimulating activities.
The employer will never give you what you need to survive, only your fellow workers will do that. So come join the union and let's make it happen.

Since the time workers broadly got the right to strike in 1935 (to promote collective bargaining), corporations and their shill politicians have spent every day trying to take it away. That’s why we can’t get wildly popular policies enacted and why democracy is nearly dead.
Two predictions: One, the rail workers are going to get their paid sick days. If they don't get it now, they're going to get it when the real struggle begins. And second, they'll make @thedemocrats pay dearly for this offense against American organized labor. #SupportRailWorkers
