As @UAW President @ShawnFainUAW said, President Trump is trying to gut unions and essential services to give him and his billionaire friends a tax cut. To every single person who cares about the fundamental freedom of all workers, now is the time to be even louder.

Trump’s $330 billion cut to education means fewer students—like those taught by Clinton McCracken—will have access to Pell Grants, a crucial pathway to college and economic mobility, just as he once did. All to fund tax breaks for billionaires. #ProtectOurKids

“For City College of San Francisco students pursuing vocational healthcare careers, chemistry courses are worth their credit weight in gold — if they can enroll.” Sadly, 100s are turned away every semester. This must change. inglesidelight.com/city-coll…

Today, CCSF students delivered a petition to Interim Chancellor Bailey calling for added classes and teachers to meet student demand for Chemistry 32 & 40. The Chancellor has agreed to replace a retiring Chem Faculty, but more Full Time faculty are needed to address the problem.

Devi Lee has come to CCSF to continue her nursing journey. However Chemistry 32, a required class, is totally full. AFT is calling on the Chancellor and Trustees to hire more Full Time Chemistry Faculty so students like Devi can become the health care professionals our city needs

To address the overwhelming need for Chemistry 32&40 classes, CCSF students started a petition to hire more Full Time Chemistry faculty. Making this smart investment will allow the Nurses and Engineers of tomorrow to access the education they need today. bit.ly/3Cd7N9S

Today, Jessica Lemus was one of over 20 students who attempted to get a seat in Chemistry 32 after being unable to register due to full classes. AFT is calling on CCSF leaders to make smart investments into this gateway class that is needed to pursue a career in nursing and more!

We made it to Election Day! We are so proud to have worked to get @alankennywong re-elected to College Board. For a stable CCSF & a fully staffed city, stand with educators & cast only 1 vote for College Board for Alan Wong! CCSF students deserve strong leadership.

Thank you Iris Biblowitz–CCSF is indeed a gem, & it's now growing with a stable budget. This is the moment to make smart investments in expanding opportunity for students who want accessible pathways to quality jobs our city needs. Case & point: Healthcare. Let's do this.
Unify for City College Regarding “ ‘Fear and frustration stops now’: New SFUSD superintendent offers hope” (Bay Area, SFChronicle.com, Oct. 21): I’m heartened by the rare unity shown for San Francisco Unified School District students, families, teachers and staff in response to the chaotic school closure proposal. This commitment to the well-being of students and high-quality education stands in contrast to the lack of support for City College of San Francisco, a gem of that’s been besieged since 2012, having nothing to do with its long history of excellent education. Progressives of the City College Board of Trustees have been criticized for wanting to maintain the diversity of classes and accessibility that have been an integral part of the college for decades. Budget cuts threaten critical English as a second language classes, training for needed health care workers and many other classes. I was lucky to be a City College nursing school graduate at a time when learning, diver

City College teachers updated endorsements: from K to College, SF educators unite in backing Alan Wong for College Board & Matt Alexander, Parag Gupta, Jaime Huling, & John Jersin for School Board. SF students deserve the best, & that takes tested & accountable leadership.

Robin teaches Business & Real Estate classes to working San Franciscans who want an accessible pathway to economic empowerment. That's City College. Robin's message: vote Alan Wong only for SF College Board. He's the 1 Trustee who opposed cuts that have locked her students out.
