Not sure where that result leaves United or the manager. But this start has been abysmal relative to what we got last season. Drawing games after leading is becoming a staple, also ~ letting in goals and not converting big clear chances, not playing players in their best positions feels like the team is surviving, rather than thriving... Bruno is nowhere near the ridiculous standards he's set for himself, and the club is rightfully suffering from being over reliant on his style of play - once he stops pulling rabbits out of hat, what else is in the hat? I don't get a giddy feeling about any section the United team. Even Lammens who was a big sigh of relief last season doesn't exude the same assurance. Baleba seems to be able to withstand aggression is the only bright spot, Tielemans proves he can be more effective if you take him out of the hot zone - but isn't that just creating another Bruno? So Carrick will have to construct a way to carry both of them? Goal production in the gutter, conceding every game, still trying to re-jig the midfield, players out of position, all these happening in parallel. 7 games into the season and it feels like taking 10 steps backwards. It feels like a brand new rebuild. We can only hope it's just a slow burn. – at Everett, WA
