After collecting the roots, she performs various analyzes such as production, and checks for fungi that help absorb nutrients.
Our PhD student Jéssica Schmeisk has been working on collecting fine roots in the soil at AFEX.
Alexander Gaione Costa, PhD student at the Federal University of Viçosa, in Minas Gerais, partners with AFEX! Alex investigates how macronutrient limitation influences predator behavior and community structure in these areas.

(📸:@annacmmoraes/@raffaellodiponz/ #allessandra_peixoto )
Today we will present our Master's student Bruna Lima @biobrunalima ! She researches the possible changes resulting from the addition of nutrients in the species (Heliconia cuminata), which occurs throughout the AFEX area!

This week (10-14/04) the Scientific Review of the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Project (BDFFP) is taking place, of which AFEX is part. There are lectures on the results of research by students and researchers (1/2)
Agora temos uma nova logo “modo aventura” feita pela nossa super criativa doutorando Jessica Schmeisk!
Now we have a new “adventure mode” logo made by our super creative PhD student Jessica Schmeisk!
The Amazon Fertilisation Experiment - AFEX project communicates to the interested parties the opening of the call to volunteer in research project.

That one field that we found a fallen tree on the road with thick branches, and we had to cut it with axes. We were "lucky" enough to find thousands of ravenous ants inside the trunk.
