The selection of a third party software library (aka API) is a non-trivial process in an organization. In our recent paper at CHASE 2024, we proposed a model of library selection process with six selection patterns by interviewing industrial developers. With Tanzil and @AE3nn

A good undergraduate student from TUe Computer Science is looking for a good European university for an Erasmus exchange period. In addition to CS the student would like to take courses from sociology and philosophy. She speaks English, French and Italian. Any suggestions? – at Hamont-Achel, België

And this one is ours! @sBr3ukelen @AE3nn @s_baltes and yours truly. Of course this work would not have been possible without the amazing veteran women software developers who agreed to talk to us and share their stories of discrimination, success and survival. Thank you so much! – at Hamont-Achel, België

A graduate student I've been working with is conducting interviews on how developers compare and select 3rd party libraries. If you have experience with this in industry, especially in an open source program office (OSPO), and would be willing to participate, please get in touch!
I've always put aside my bike when it snows. This was not an inconvenience when I lived somewhere that got 1-2 weeks of snow per year. Now that I'm living somewhere snowy, I'm reconsidering...but I'd need a different bike with suitable tires. 1/2
So, big ask, but if anyone in #yyc would consider loaning me a bicycle for a short ride, I am looking to be converted into an all-season rider. Or do you know of somewhere that rents? 2/2
