I'm not saying that the lack of a @IAmTimDowling column in the Guardian today ruined my Saturday buuuuut...
My wife was asked to do a reading at her brother's wedding. She wanted song lyrics. I gently suggested Etta James' At Last. Very apt for a wedding delayed for two years by COVID.

For the first time in months, I got up, looked out the window and thought "trousers today". (Instead of shorts, I wasn't walking around in my pants all summer.)
I think I'm still young but then I remember I have a base back from constantly bending over to pick up my children and the stuff they drop...

From the mind of Neil Gaiman, a two-part bonus episode of THE SANDMAN, featuring the stories "A Dream of a Thousand Cats" and "Calliope," is now streaming only on Netflix.
Episode 5 of #TheSandman might be one of the most intense hours of television I've ever watched. Simply stunning, superb television. Wish I could watch it for the first time again and again. @neilhimself I salute you, sir!
Still can't get enough of #RDR2 - it's such an incredible game with top level acting, writing and game design. Probably shouldn't spend all day playing video games at 40 though...

Today has mostly been spent cutting up the recycling with my son and gluing/taping it together to make a marble run. OK, so he lost interest in making it before I did, but he is three and a half and he loved the result...

A dark and distributing fairy story unlike anything else I've read. Part murder mystery, party psychological horror, this story leaves you wondering what really happened to Cassandra Tipp. Surely her story can't be true... Or can it?
I enjoyed this a lot and got through it pretty quickly - a miracle with two toddlers in the house! It's fairly short and totally engrossing. I was left with questions at the end, which I like, and I couldn't stop dwelling on how insanely clever the premise is.
