We applaud the House for passing @BillPascrell & @RepMcCaul's amendment increasing funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which provides critical support to protect houses of worship and at-risk nonprofits. We call on the Senate to support increased funding as well.

California is on the verge of equipping itself with new tools in the fight against hate. Legislation like AB 1079 (@AsmCoreyJackson), which declares hate a public health issue and establishes a Hate Crimes Intervention Unit, and AB 1185 (@JesseGabrielCA), which expands the eligibility for the state's Nonprofit Security Grant Program to ensure the safety of a large network of at-risk institutions. Comments like the ones at yesterday's City Council are unacceptable and grotesque. Incidents of hate like these are exactly the reason why I will continue to speak up and speak out against anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ, anti-Black, anti-AAPI, and anti-immigrant hate.

As my colleague @James_Pasch explains, “It’s clear that the Santa Ana Unified School District violated the law in their rush to approve antisemitic content within their ethnic studies curriculum.” Proud of @ADL's role in this important case to protect the Jewish community & ensure their voices will be heard.
